Music plays a vital role in both the worship and social life here at St. James Westminster.  Our organist and music director, Stephen Holowitz, has been at St. James Westminster since 2001. Stephen brings an eclectic mix of musical styles to our services, from Anglican and Latin chant, to traditional motets and anthems, to contemporary gospel and worship songs.  Our services seek to incorporate a variety of music to deepen our collective prayer and praise.

We are fortunate to have many local musicians, both amateur and professional, who share their talents with us during Sunday services.  We welcome students to participate as their time will allow, and we are thrilled to have many guest instrumentalists visit us during the year.

We are particularly pleased with our outreach to four groups in particular. These  groups regularly rehearse and perform in the  St. James sanctuary.

  • Brassroots, A 12 piece brass and percussion ensemble.
  • Conspirato, A chamber choir geared towards young adults.
  • The London Opera Guild, An association dedicated to the encouragment of opera and especially to help provide support for the Canadian Opera Company.
  • London Pro Musica, A vibrant mixed-voice choir ensemble based in London, Ontario,
